Dark Matter from Minimal Flavor Violation
Speaker(s): Brian Batell
Abstract: Stability on cosmological time scales constitutes one of the few robust guiding principles in the formulation of a theory of dark matter. This suggests the existence of a stabilizing symmetry associated to dark matter. I will explore several examples of stabilizing symmetries beyond the canonical Z_... read more

Hidden sectors at the luminosity frontier
Speaker(s): Brian Batell
Abstract: Light hidden sectors are a generic possibility for new physics, and recent astrophysical signals motivate hidden sector dark matter. I will discuss probes of a minimal secluded U(1) hidden sector scenario with high luminosity particle physics experiments.

Soft wall dynamics in AdS/QCD
Speaker(s): Brian Batell
Abstract: Linear confinement in holographic QCD can be obtained with a soft-wall quadratic dilaton background. We present a dynamical five-dimensional model realizing this setup and discuss the implications for the hypothetical string theory dual to QCD.

Warped extra dimensions and partial compositeness
Speaker(s): Brian Batell
Abstract: Strong gauge dynamics can be given a holographic description in terms of a warped extra dimension. In particular, Randall-Sundrum models with bulk fields are dual to Standard Model partial compositeness. We identify a holographic basis of 4D fields that allows for a quantitative description of the e... read more
