Abstract

The study of foils, or "mutations", of quantum theory has proven to
be extremely useful in identifying operational reasons for why quantum theory is the way it is. In this talk, I will present our work on a mutation of quantum theory via its geometric formulation. The observational signatures ("phenotype") of this mutation lie in dynamical phenomena such as oscillation and interference. I will discuss how data from particle physics experiments can be used to put constraints on the deviation from quantum theory and the possibility of modeling third-order interference in this framework. Finally, I will comment on other prospects of this research program.
