Abstract

Cosmological probes of new physics scenarios provide a powerful complementary probe to traditional earth-based experiments. Strongly coupled new physics and their holographic duals, well-motivated and well-studied in the literature, can provide signals in the early universe that are unique - from a coming together of non-perturbative effects and the early universe environment. In this talk I will discuss various theoretical and phenomenological aspects of such strongly coupled sectors that are relevant to the early Universe. I will present two scenarios: 1) a post inflationary deconfinement to confinement phase transition, and 2) an inflaton coupled to a confining strongly coupled sector. The underlying physics of these scenarios will be modeled in a holographic dual, with insights from UV complete models. I will show that there are theoretical surprises, and interesting phenomenological opportunities that these scenarios offer.
