Conceptual Gems of Theoretical Physics
6 talks-Collection Number C11037This workshop introduced artists to some of the most fruitful concepts in modern theoretical physics, with an emphasis on concepts that are infrequently discussed in public discussions of physics. The goal of this workshop was to provide an intimate conceptual experience of modern physics that would enable the artists to build these ideas into original artworks. The day was structured to create an intensely collaborative and creative atmosphere. -

EinsteinPlus 2010
1 talk-Collection Number C10054EinsteinPlus workshop is a one-week, intensive residential workshop for Canadian and international high school teachers that focuses on key areas of modern physics — including quantum physics, special and general relativity, and cosmology. The workshop incorporates sessions on: Innovative teaching strategies suitable for all areas of physics In-class learning resources on modern physics Techniques for sharing the information and materials obtained at Einstein Plus with your colleagues at home for the benefit of additional educators and their students EinsteinPlus also provides unique opportunities to learn some of the latest developments in theoretical physics from researchers at the forefront of their fields, enjoy lab tours and take part in social events with like-minded teachers from around the globe. -
ISSYP 2010
4 talks-Collection Number C10055The ISSYP is an exciting and challenging two-week program for Canadian and international high school students with a keen interest in theoretical physics and who intend to pursue a degree in physics at the university level. This summer school super-charges potential "Einsteins" with: Presentations by Perimeter Institute researchers on cutting edge theoretical physics – hot topics such as superstring theory, quantum computing and dark matter. Opportunities to work with leading international theoretical physicists in small group mentoring sessions. Lab tours and other activities with like-minded students from around the globe. Insights into their own potential as possible future researchers in theoretical physics. -

ISSYP Virtual
38 talksCollection Number C08028Here is your opportunity to experience, online, select content from Perimeter Institute's highly successful two-week International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP). While we could reach up to 100 "young physicists" per year with our onsite ISSYP camps, our Virtual ISSYP opens up this fantastic learning experience for all to enjoy. The Virtual ISSYP is intended for students, teachers and anyone interested in learning more about the wonders of modern physics and the excitement of research and discovery at the frontiers of knowledge. -
Black Hole Science Cafes
3 talks-Collection Number C08026The "Black Hole Science Cafes" are a rebirth of Perimeter Institute's highly successful "Black Hole Sessions," which provided an opportunity for members of the community interested in the exciting research happening at PI to engage in informal discussions with researchers and members of the PI Outreach Team. To learn about fascinating, cutting edge ideas about how our universe works - as revealed by theoretical physics - and ask questions of PI researchers. The Cafes will continue this tradition but will be made available to a worldwide audience through the PI website. The Cafes consist of a 20 minute introduction to a chosen topic by Dr. Richard Epp of the PI Outreach Team, followed by a 40 minute Question and Answer session, possibly featuring a PI researcher specializing in that topic. -
ISSYP 2008
35 talks-Collection Number C08016International Summer School for Young Physicists is a national two-week summer school designed to capture the scientific imagination of grade 11 students (secondaire V in Quebec) and nurture their passion for physics through an exploration of the fascinating mysteries of our universe. -
