We have made a new measurement of the electron’s electric dipole moment (EDM) using a beam of YbF molecules. By measuring atto-eV energy shifts in a molecule, this experiment probes new physics at the tera-eV energy scale. According to the standard model, this EDM is d_e=10^(-38) e.cm – some eleven orders of magnitude below the current experimental limit. However, most extensions to the standard model predict much larger values, potentially accessible to measurement . Hence, the search for the electron EDM is a search for physics beyond the standard model. I will describe our experimental method, our current results and their implications for particle physics. I will also outline the prospects for further major improvement in sensitivity.

It is known that the correlator of one axial and two vector currents, that receives leading contributions through one-loop fermion triangle diagrams, is not modified by QCD radiative corrections at two loops. It was suggested that this non-renormalization of the VVA correlator persists in higher orders in perturbative QCD as well. To check this assertion, I compute the three-loop QCD corrections to the VAA-correlator using the technique of asymptotic expansions. I find that these corrections do not vanish and that they are proportional to the QCD beta-function. I will also review some properties of the VVA correlator that were discovered in recent years.
FERMI 130 GeV Line: Dark Interpretations

Last year strong evidence was claimed for a 130 GeV gamma ray line from the galactic center in the FERMI telescope data. In the first half of the talk I will review the status of the evidence, including recent suggestions which call it into question. In the second half of the talk, under the bold assumption that the line is a genuine signature of dark matter, I will review some of the properties required of dark matter to explain the line and the general features of models proposed to explain it. This second half will include material from recent work with Francesco D'Eramo and Jesse Thaler (arxiv:1210.7817), which suggests that the line is readily explained by dark matter "semi-annihilation" rather than the standard annihilation interpretation.

The interpretation of events with jets is often ambiguous, especially for the sort of highly complex events one encounters at the LHC. One often finds that an event interpreted as signal-like using one choice of jet algorithm and radius parameter is no longer signal-like with another, even if the two are very similar. Here we present an extension of the Qjets procedure designed to account for this ambiguity and assign each plausible interpretation of an event a weight, so that events which are unambiguously signal-like carry more influence on one's results than events which are only marginally so. This procedure can be used with any existing analysis employing a sequential recombination algorithm like anti-kT and we will show that through its use the statistical power of an analysis often increases. In particular, we will see that a up to a 20\% improvement in statistical significance can be realized for a Higgs-like analysis searching for a resonance recoiling against an associated vector boson.
Indirect Searches for Dark Matter with the Fermi Large Area Telescope

There is overwhelming evidence that non-baryonic dark matter constitutes ~23% of the energy density of the universe. Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) are promising dark matter candidates that may produce gamma rays via annihilation or decay detectable by the Fermi Large Area Telescope (Fermi LAT). A detection of WIMPs would also indicate the existence of physics beyond the Standard Model. I will present recent results from indirect WIMP searches by the Fermi LAT Collaboration. I will focus on our recent search for gamma-ray spectral lines from WIMP annihilations with 4 years of data. There has been recent excitement with the report of a line-like feature localized in the galactic center around 130 GeV. I will be discussing what our search finds and the systematic checks we've performed on potential signals.

In this talk, I'll give a brief summary of how one-loop bulk eﬀects renormalize both bulk and brane eﬀective interactions for geometries sourced by codimension-two branes. I'll then discuss what these results imply for a six-dimensional supergravity model which aims to capture the features that make extra-dimensional physics attractive for understanding naturalness issues in particle physics. I'll also emphasize the role that brane back-reaction plays in yielding unexpected results, and present a one-loop contribution to the 4D vacuum energy whose size is set by the KK scale.

We analyze the implications for Susy theories of a Higgs to di-photon rate enhanced, if compared to the Standard Model prediction. We show how models predicting a sizable enhancement have generically an electroweak vacuum that is not absolutely stable. In particular we discuss the only viable scenario that can predict sizable new physics effects in the di-photon rate in the framework of the MSSM: a scenario with light and heavily mixed staus. We conclude with the phenomenology of this model and with the prospects of probing it at the LHC, through the direct production of light staus.

New Results in Jet Substructure

We present new results on the performance of jet substructure techniques and their use in distinguishing the signatures of new boosted massive particles from the QCD background. Advanced approaches to jet reconstruction using jet grooming algorithms such as filtering, trimming, and pruning are compared. Measurements of the jet invariant mass for each jet algorithm are compared both at the particle level to multiple Monte Carlo event generators and at the detector level for several configurations of the jet grooming algorithms. The performance of these strategies and improvements in search sensitivity for new boosted hadronic particles are compared. Recent results using these techniques for both boosted RPV gluinos and top quark pairs from new particles are presented. The result is a comprehensive foundation for the use of substructure algorithms in the search for new physics at the LHC
